All employees of SolidWorks Value Added Re-sellers, (VAR’s), are given the opportunity to become a SolidWorks Elite Applications Engineer by passing a number of Certified SolidWorks exams and contributing to the SolidWorks community. The exams include becoming a Certified SolidWorks Professional, a Certified SolidWorks Expert and achieving a pass in a number of specialist exams on a yearly basis. The passes generate a point’s total whereby a score of over 230 points along with making an active and recognised contribution to the SolidWorks community via forums, user group meetings or other social groups, writing tips and tricks, newsletters and blogs, will trigger the achievement of SolidWorks Elite Applications Engineer status.

Upon achieving the points total and being recommended by the SolidWorks technical team for Elite status, I was invited with some of my colleagues to receive my award at SolidWorks World 2017 convention last February in Los Angeles.

SolidWorks World 2017 had thousands of attendees from across the world. Many of them were SolidWorks customers using the software to design their products. It was great to see lots of energy and excitement generating some terrific ideas creating and design solutions for coping with the likes of environmental challenges, medical breakthroughs and future technical enhancements such as robotics and virtual reality. The rest of the attendees are made up by people who either use SolidWorks or contribute to the

SolidWorks community as direct employees or re-seller employees.

The event included presentations from senior SolidWorks staff alongside other guest speakers explaining how their companies had grown using SolidWorks. Anousheh Ansari gave an inspirational talk of her own desires to achieve her dream of travelling into space.

The final evening was dedicated to the presentation of re-seller awards with lots of company and individual accomplishments being recognised by SolidWorks. I was proud to receive my Crystal alongside my colleagues and other recognised Elite AE’s from the UK and across the world.

Congratulations to everyone.
